About

Greetings! This blog is an exercise in work avoidance, cultural exploration, and personal improvement and entertainment. Instead of falling back on the usual array of viral YouTube videos and web comics, I’m attempting to think critically about what it is I’m procrastinating with, be it a new book I’m reading, a recent film, a theatrical production, current events, or just general intellectual meandering. One doesn’t necessarily need mind-dulling reruns or goofy online videos to unwind from the stressors of everyday life. Learning can be fun, too.

Opinions of all sorts are welcome. If you’d like to get in touch with me directly, you can contact me at fabianamcabral [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thank you for visiting!

Thanks for your enlightened critic of the documentary on Susan Sontag which was a very good summary of what it describes. I also read your summary about Garcia Marquez and read with much interest the excerpt of the interview of his English translator. I will follow your blog as time permits.
I am also a translator (English to French).
    Have an excellent day.
