Greetings! This blog is an exercise in work avoidance, cultural exploration, and personal improvement and entertainment. Instead of falling back on the usual array of viral YouTube videos and web comics, I’m attempting to think critically about what it is I’m procrastinating with, be it a new book I’m reading, a recent film, a theatrical production, current events, or just general intellectual meandering. One doesn’t necessarily need mind-dulling reruns or goofy online videos to unwind from the stressors of everyday life. Learning can be fun, too.

Fabiana Cabral hails from Caracas, Venezuela, and lived in Boston from 2006 to 2020. She recently relocated to NYC. A master’s graduate in English literature and former teaching fellow at Boston College, she also worked as a history guide at King’s Chapel on the Freedom Trail for 5.5 years. She has written for HowlRound, American Theatre, and LitHub, and she served as the editor of the My Theatre (Boston) and My Books branches of My Entertainment World. Thanks for your enlightened critic of the documentary on Susan Sontag which was a very good summary of what it describes. I also read your summary about Garcia Marquez and read with much interest the excerpt of the interview of his English translator. I will follow your blog as time permits.
